I’m a New York-based writer and editor, with more than 10 years experience in journalism. My first book, “New York Curiosities,” is a collection of stories about fascinating people, places and things from all over the state.

The book is part of a state-by-state series from the Globe Pequot Press. It’s a collection of more than 200 stories — everything from a man who built his own castle out of found objects in the Hudson Valley, to the Adirondacks’ answer to the Loch Ness Monster, a museum devoted to Jell-O and the scientific reason why they call Niagara Falls “The Honeymoon Capital of the World.”

MORE THAN YOU WANTED TO KNOW

In my spare time, I’ve taken several courses at Mediabistro in SoHo, including research and humor writing. I also gather regularly with other writers and journalists; we help each other with current projects. When I’m not writing, I enjoy taking modern dance classes, a longtime passion of mine, and art classes such as mosaic. I’m fascinated with color, color combinations and all things home design. I love to travel and hike. Music has always been part of my life - I’ve played the piano and french horn. I know some Spanish.
